George L. Varnadoe has been practicing in Collier County, Florida since 1976. Mr. Varnadoe attended the University of Florida and received his undergraduate degree in 1964 from the University of South Florida. He served as a Captain with the U.S. Air Force in the Philippines and Vietnam. He received his law degree with high honors from the Florida State University in 1971. Prior to joining Cheffy Passidomo, Mr. Varnadoe was the managing partner of the Naples office of the law firm of Young, van Assenderp, Varnadoe & Anderson, PA.

Mr. Varnadoe concentrates his practice on land use, growth management, environmental permitting, real property and administrative law. He currently spends the majority of his time protecting land owners and assisting developers through the land use and environmental regulation, permitting and zoning process, having shepherded approximately twenty-five (25) projects through the Development of Regional Impact (DRI) process. He has written and lectured extensively on growth management, comprehensive planning, land use and environmental issues. He was instrumental in establishing the first rural lands stewardship program in the State of Florida, and obtaining the land use entitlements for the first major Catholic university to be established in the United States in the last 40 years, Ave Maria University. He was recognized in 2005 by Florida Trend as one of the top 2% of lawyers in the State and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America for land use matters. For 2013, Best Lawyers in America named Mr. Varnadoe “Lawyer of the Year” in the Fort Myers Area in the practice of Land Use and Zoning Law.

He is a member of The Florida Bar; former President and Director of Collier County Real Estate Attorneys, Inc.; former President and Director of Lawyer’s Abstract Service; former member of the Speaker’s Task Force on Water Issues; former Director of Collier County Swamp Buggy Days, Inc.; a member of Phi Delta Phi Fraternity; a member of the Panel of Arbitrators, American Arbitration Association; and a member of the Collier County and American Bar Associations.
